Origin: About 100 male pups were obtained by breeding SHRSP/Izm and WKY.SHRSP-(D1Smu13-D1Smu11)/Izm; one pup that had the right recombination was found and backcrossed to the parental strain to get the hetrozygotes, which were then mated brother-sister to get the desired congenic strain
