Description: Hirosaki hairless rat (HHR) is a mutant strain spontaneously derived from Sprague-Dawley rats, and its inheritance is autosomal recessive. . These mutations are autosomal recessive and are suggested to be due to deletion of the keratin gene cluster. HHR attain sexualmaturity at approximately 10 weeks of age and give birth to young but are not able to nurse them.
Genetic Status: Homozygous
Last Known Status: Unknown
