Ontology ID: RS:0000148
Type: inbred
Available Source: Charles River France
Origination: Charles River France
Description: Strain selected by Silvers and Billingham in 1958 after cross-breeding of histocompatible animals from a colony of mutants. These animals were then maintained in closed colony by H.D. King and P. Aptekman at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) (Bethesda, MD, USA). The strain was obtained by Microbiological Associates, Inc., Department of Laboratory Animals, Walkersville, Maryland, USA in 1969 and introduced into CNRS/CSEAL in Orleans, France in 1988. It was then transferred to Charles River Laboratories France in 1991.
Last Known Status: Unknown
