Gene Ontology annotations for species other than rat and mouse are downloaded from UniProt-GOA (ftp://ftp.ebi.ac.uk/pub/databases/GO/goa/UNIPROT/goa_uniprot_all.gaf.gz). For any row where the taxon ID matches a taxon ID for any non-rat, non-mouse species in RGD, the annotated protein is matched to an RGD gene using the UniProt ID and the annotation loaded onto the gene as is (i.e., using the same evidence code, data source, qualifier, with field, etc. as are present in the incoming file).
