Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; central nervous system; genitourinary system; musculature; and sensory organ. Used to study autosomal recessive limb-girdle muscular dystrophy type 2P; dilated cardiomyopathy; and lissencephaly. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in bronchopulmonary dysplasia and myopathy (multiple). Orthologous to human DAG1 (dystroglycan 1).
