cell proliferation bioassay +
A method of determining the concentration, relative activity or effects of a biologically active substance in a sample based on the effect of the sample on the reproduction or multiplication of cells, especially of cells which depend for their viability and/or reproduction on a particular substance of interest. The amount or activity of that substance in the sample is calculated by measuring the effect of the sample on the test cell culture compared with the effect of a reference standard.
