A primary systemic mycosis that results_in a systemic fungal infection, has_material_basis_in Sporothrix schenckii in animals and humans and results_in_formation_of red papule at the site of inoculation. The commonest and least serious of the deep mycoses, characterized by nodular lesions of the cutaneous and subcutaneous tissues. It is caused by inhalation of contaminated dust or by infection of a wound.
