The number of splenocytes expressing CD11B and/or CD11C molecules on their surface in a specified sample of spleen tissue. The CD11B molecule (ITGAM, integrin alpha M chain) combines with the beta 2 chain (ITGB2) to form a leukocyte-specific integrin referred to as macrophage receptor 1 (Mac-1), or inactivated-C3b (iC3b) receptor 3 (CR3). The CD11C molecule (ITGAX, integrin subunit alpha X chain) combines with the beta 2 chain (ITGB2) to form a leukocyte-specific integrin referred to as inactivated-C3b (iC3b) receptor 4 (CR4).
