calculated plasma low density lipoprotein cholesterol level +
The amount of low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) in a specified volume of blood plasma where the value was derived by a mathematical process or computation rather than being measured directly. The calculation can be made using any of several computational formulas, e.g. the Friedewald (1972) Formula: LDL = TC - HDL - TG/5.0 (mg/dL), or the 'Iranian' (2008) Formula: LDL = TC/1.19 + TG/1.9 - HDL/1.1 - 38 (mg/dL).
