This is any condition in which the main influencing factor is lysergic acid diethylamide, a semisynthetic derivative of ergot (Claviceps purpurea) that has complex effects on both peripheral and central nervous system serotonergic receptors. Lysergic acid diethylamide is a potent hallucinogen.
