This is any condition in which the major influencing factor is the peptide (TESPFKNTEISFKLGQEFEETTADNR) representing residues 53 to 78 of peripheral myelin protein 2, a fatty acid and cholesterol binding protein which together with myelin basic protein constitutes a major fraction of the peripheral nervous system myelin proteins.
