Definition:A nucleobase analogue that is uracil in which the hydrogen at position 5 is replaced by fluorine. Following conversion to the active deoxynucleotide, It inhibits DNA synthesis by blocking the thymidylate synthetase conversion of deoxyuridylic acid to thymidylic acid.
