MEASUREMENT METHODS - ANNOTATIONS

The Clinical Measurement Ontology (CMO), Measurement Methods Ontology (MMO), and Experimental Condition Ontology (XCO) are currently being developed at the Rat Genome Database. Definition:This is a method using a device designed to follow a predetermined sequence of individual operations repeatedly and essentially without external influence or control to measure the amount of phosphate in blood plasma, the fluid portion of the blood remaining after cells and platelets are removed. Phosphate is an electrically charged particle that contains the mineral phosphorus. Phosphorus works together with the mineral calcium to build strong bones and teeth. Normally, the kidneys filter and remove excess phosphate from the blood.
