The Clinical Measurement Ontology (CMO), Measurement Methods Ontology (MMO), and Experimental Condition Ontology (XCO) are currently being developed at the Rat Genome Database. Definition:A method which quantifies the net effect of blocking both Na-K-Cl cotransporters and the Na/K pump, membrane transport proteins/enzymes which transport sodium (Na), potassium (K), and chloride (Cl) ions across cell membranes. The Na+ passive permeability assay essentially measures Na+ and/or K+ leak into cells.
Synonyms:exact_synonym: bumetanide-ouabain resistant cation leak assay;   bumetanide-ouabain resistant pathway assay;   passive membrane permeability assay
