A method which quantifies the catalytic effect exerted by ceruloplasmin in a specified sample of plasma. The rate of formation of the colored oxidation product is proportional to the concentration of ceruloplasmin when a correction is made for nonenzymatic oxidation of p-phenylenediamine (PPD).
