Definition:A laboratory test which measures the level of triglyceride, the naturally occurring ester of three fatty acids and glycerol that is the chief constituent of fat, in plasma. Plasma is the fluid portion of the blood in which the particulate components are suspended, or from which the particulate components have been removed by centrifugation or settling without clotting.
