Definition:Any anomaly of a subclavian artery.
Comment:The left and right subclavian arteries supply blood to the posterior cerebral circulation, cerebellum, posterior neck, upper limbs and the superior and anterior chest wall. The right subclavian artery is a terminal branch of the brachiocephalic artery,and the left subclavian artery is the third branch of the aortic arch (following the left common carotid artery).
