Definition:Measurement of the amount of potassium ion that is blocked from being imported by bumetanide inhibition of the erythrocyte membrane transport protein that transports sodium (Na), potassium (K), and chloride (Cl) ions across the cell membrane into erythrocytes, in a specified volume of red blood cells during a specified unit of time. Rubidium is sometimes assayed as a substitute for potassium.
Synonyms:exact_synonym: bumetanide-sensitive K+ uptake rate;   bumetanide-sensitive erythrocyte K+ import rate;   bumetanide-sensitive red blood cell Rb+ import rate
