Definition:Measurement of the level of activity of the erythrocyte membrane transport protein that transports sodium (Na), potassium (K), and chloride (Cl) ions across the cell membrane into erythrocytes. For every sodium and potassium ion transported, this symporter transports two chloride ions, thus maintaining electroneutrality.
