CLINICAL MEASUREMENT - ANNOTATIONS

The Clinical Measurement Ontology (CMO), Measurement Methods Ontology (MMO), and Experimental Condition Ontology (XCO) are currently being developed at the Rat Genome Database. For more information about these vocabularies please see Shimoyama et al. Three ontologies to define phenotype measurement data. Front Genet. 2012;3:87. Definition:CVP (central venous pressure) is the pressure in the thoracic vena cava near the right atrium (therefore, CVP and right atrial pressure are essentially the same). Central venous pressure is an important concept in clinical cardiology because it is a major determinant of the filling pressure and therefore the preload of the right ventricle.
