CLINICAL MEASUREMENT - ANNOTATIONS

The Clinical Measurement Ontology (CMO), Measurement Methods Ontology (MMO), and Experimental Condition Ontology (XCO) are currently being developed at the Rat Genome Database. For more information about these vocabularies please see Shimoyama et al. Three ontologies to define phenotype measurement data. Front Genet. 2012;3:87. Definition:This is a calculated measurement which is used to determine passive permeability coefficients. It helps assess the rate of verapamil permeation and the presence of active transport processes in a two compartment system involving retina and blood plasma. This calculated value is determined by this formula: Capp(t)/Cp(t) = Kin,tissue x AUC(t)/Cp(t) + Vi, where Capp=apparent concentration, p=plasma, and Vi=rapidly equilibrated distribution volume of verapamil in retina.
Synonyms:broad_synonym: Kin, retina;   influx rate constant, retina
