The Clinical Measurement Ontology (CMO), Measurement Methods Ontology (MMO), and Experimental Condition Ontology (XCO) are currently being developed at the Rat Genome Database. This is a measurement of the amount of C3a des Arg in a specified sample of serum, the clear liquid that separates from blood after it has clotted completely, i.e. blood plasma from which fibrinogen has been removed. C3a des Arg is formed from C3a via carboxypeptidase cleavage of the C-terminal arginine group.
