Term:
non-specified leukocyte count to total leukocyte count ratio
A calculated measurement in which the number of white blood cells that have not been identified as a specific type of cell is divided by the total number of leukocytes in a specified sample of blood, and the result presented as a ratio, fraction, quotient or percentage.
Comment:
This is not the total percentage of leukocytes (e.g. compared to all cells including RBCs) in a sample, but rather is for use when a series of differential percentages is given followed by a number for the percent of WBCs which do not fit into any other category.
