Definition:The amount of indirect or unconjugated bilirubin in a specified sample of blood plasma. Indirect bilirubin is the lipid-soluble form of bilirubin that circulates in loose association with the plasma proteins. It can be calculated by subtracting direct bilirubin level from the total bilirubin level.
