A polysaccharide derivative composed mainly of a glucan in which succinoyl groups are bound to some of the hydroxyl groups of the glucopyranose monomers. The polysaccharide fragment consists of beta-(1->3)-, beta-(1->4)- and beta-(1->6)-linked glucose residues together with a small proportion of beta-(1->3)-linked galactose residues.
